Behind the scenes with Helen

Where you can find me on the weekend:Ideally, I’d be at the beach every weekend with my family and pupper. Having my feet in the ocean or my body in nature centers me beyond words. Realistically, I’m a homebody. I relax on the deck with family and friends, enjoying good food and better conversation. Or I take nature walks and spend time gardening, reading, and snuggling in front of a favorite show. Visits to my college-aged children are another favorite weekend activity as we explore upstate New York and Pennsylvania.

My guilty pleasure is: Chocolate, chips, Outlander

Advice I give but I am bad about taking: Creating space for mindfulness and reflection. It’s a daily practice for me that can often get bumped on days where my schedule is full. Still, every day is a new start, and I’ve become better at self-compassion and starting my practice as I am.

My superpower is: I have an eye for detail and I am quite intuitive.

My most embarrassing facilitator moment: When I was talking about Myers Briggs type J or P and I said – “It could be your P-ness showing up” which sounded like ‘penis’

Once my leg fell asleep in a session and I got up to walk across the room and dropped to one knee and then recovered without spilling my tea – not the most graceful but a feat in high heels.

Funniest thing my family has said to me about coaching: When my daughter was in elementary school, she took one of my business cards and gave it to the school bus driver and told her to call me. The driver asked why – and she said, “I think you could do with her help!” She never did call me.
