Behind the scenes with Helen
Where you can find me on the weekend: Depending on the season, watching Joey’s baseball, relaxing with family and friends, which may include a fire pit and dinner on the deck, walking the puppy, talking with friends and relatives in US and UK, gardening, reading.
My guilty pleasure is: Chocolate, chips, Outlander
Advice I give but I am bad about taking: Creating space for mindfulness and reflection. It’s a daily practice for me that can often get bumped on days where my schedule is over full. Still, every day is a new start, so I’ve become better at not judging or beating myself over it and starting my practice again.
My superpower is: I have an eye for detail and I am quite intuitive.
My most embarrassing facilitator moment: When I was talking about Myers Briggs type J or P and I said – “It could be your P-ness showing up” which sounded like ‘penis’
Once my leg fell asleep in a session and I got up to walk across the room and dropped to one knee and then recovered without spilling my tea – not the most graceful but a feat in high heels.
Funniest thing my family has said to me about coaching: When my daughter was in elementary school, she took one of my business cards and gave it to the school bus driver and told her to call me. The driver asked why – and she said, “I think you could do with her help!” She never did call me.
