Q&A with Helen

Where I grew up: South Shields, Tyne and Wear, England. After over 25 years’ living in the US, I still have one foot here and one foot with family and friends in the UK.

My family: Rob, Joey, Sophie, and Brandy, our mini goldendoodle.

My favorite music: Crowded House, Abba, Lizzo, Dolly Parton, U2, Ed Sheeran, Andrea Bocelli – yep, my Spotify channel will give you whiplash.

My favorite foods: Chocolate, organic greens and roasted veggies, chicken curry, lentil soup, sauerkraut, and chips.

My favorite cocktail: I’m more of a tea girl – I like ginger tea – zesty.

What I like to do in my spare time: Read, walk, spend time in nature, garden, do yoga, have quality time with hubby and kids, have walks and talks with friends, cook delicious food, curl up on the sofa with hubby for favorite shows.

My first job: Waitress in a tea shop on the beach and receptionist at an osteopathic clinic – all the same summer as a teen.

Something no one would believe about me: At university, I led a human rights campaign for a fellow student and friend who became a political prisoner in his home country (The Maldives). It helped to keep him alive while Amnesty International investigated before taking his case and acting on his behalf.

Be the change you wish to see in the world.
